After work I pack my gear and head out to Vålådalen for some solo winter camping in Vålådalen.
Stormy receiving
When I almost arrive to Vålådalen it start to get really stormy, snow drifting over the landscape and the trees swayed in the strong wind.
But when I arrive in Vålådalen it was hardly no wind, so I start to pack down my gear in the pulk and soon I was on my way out in the old woodland in Vålådalen Nature Reserve. I have missed the old woodland, I love to ski between all old gray dead wood. The trees looks like the ents from the fairytale of Lord of the rings.
Find a campsite

Soon it starts to get darker and it was time to find a campsite for the night. I found a nice campsite right next to a frozen river.
When I have pitched my tent and dig out a hole in the large vestibule I start to boil some Bullenś sausage, tasted just lovely after the skiing. It felt amazing to spend a night in my Hilleberg Nammatj in these beautiful woodland surrounded with beautiful fells, happy times.
Beautiful morning and new adventures
When I open the zipper after a long nights sleep I get met by the warm sunlight between the old pines.
I filled my coffee pan with some fresh cold snow, lights my multi fuel stove and soon I get the lovely coffee smell in my tent.
I spend a long time enjoying my breakfast and drinking coffee, readed a few chapters in my book before I pack my camera backpack for a day trip.
Adventure in the fells

I followed the trail towards Stensdalen and the fells, after several of kilometers I turn away from the trail up and up into the birch woodland. Lonely birch trees and wind svept fells attracts me to climb higher up. I stoped in a little opening among the birch trees, it was hardly no wind and the sun was warm, perfect for a little break and some warm chocolate, I cut some slices of dried reindeer meat, just enjoy my time in the fells.

Whiteout in the stormy fells
I did a last push up trough the birch woodland to the fells, it was very windy up on the fells. Sunshine mixed with snowstorm, suits the landscape photo I planned just perfect. Time to time dramatic windswept fells appear in the snowstorm.
Maybe sound strange but I really enjoy my stay up in the fells in this inhospitable landscape.
After a few captures I felt like it was time to start to head back.
I skied down through the birch forest with long turns, that was so much fun!
When I was down in the valley I stop and enjoy some warm chocolate and some more sun.

Back to camp
Then I skied back to campsite and pack down the tent and start to move my campsite up on a the bogs with a beautiful view over the surrounding fells and old woodland.
Hunting for water
I was divided if I will melt snow or ski a pair of kilometer down to a water hole that I found earlier that day, I choose the second alternative and get both some more skiing and some cold fresh water in my termos. When I start skiing the last sun rays pass though the clouds and lighted up the fells Lill-Stensdalsfjället, just an amazing view and memory, I also spotted a few Capercaillie. Really great evening skiing trip, but it might have been easier and faster to melt snow. But the experience of skiing through the old woodland this late afternoon was definitely worth it.
Time for dinner
Back at camp site I boiled some water to my dried meal, tonight it was served Chicken Tikka Masala.
Cozy evening in the tent

Spend the evening reading a few chapter in my book, and soon the stars sparkle on the sky and a falling star light up the dark night.
Sunny morning

Waked up to a beautiful morning, I spend a long time with the breakfast, drinking coffee and reading my book before I packed down my gear and ski back to Vålådalen.
