Misty Mountain and forest

The mist swept between the trees and mountains while I start the hike up in the fells in Härbergsdalen, Frostviksfjällen.
A light rain pouring down as I walk through the old beautiful forest.
Time to time the mountaintops reveals in the mist.

Steep hike through the damp forest

It was a struggle to climb up through the forest but soon I start to reach above the treeline and the mountain gets steeper before I reach flater ground to pitch my tent. I think the clock was around 1:00am.

Tired after all driving and climbing I fall asleep very quick.

In search for a stream and fresh water

I wake up early and go out and search for a stream with fresh water, most of the small stream have dried out. I have to hike pretty long to find a stream and fill my bottle and cooking pot.

Nice morning on the mountains

I wake up to a nice morning up in the mountain, sun shine and a gentle breeze swept over the mountains as I had my breakfast.

Out exploring

Then I went for a short hike in the surrounding area. The sun plays hide and seek between the clouds.
When I got back to our tent the rain starts, I went back into my tent and wait for better weather.

Hiking further up in the mountains

After a few hour the rain stops and I decide to hike up to a little tarn higher up in the fells. I pack down the tent and as I start my hike further up in the mountains it was really sunny and the wind picks up a bit.
Finally I reach the tarn and I pitch the tent close to a little tarn with a lovely little stream. The views was gorgeous.

A Ljungpipare, Pluvialis apricaria, follow me along the hike with the beeping sound.

Foreboding dark clouds

Later in the evening the clouds start to build up really dark and moody and a ray of light strike through the heavy clouds, I hike up on a little mountain to get signal to phone and tell that everything is fine with me. I stay close to the tent and capture some photos. When I get back I boil some water to the dried food as dinner.

Solitude in paradise

Before I got back in to the tent for the night I enjoy my stay up on the mountain, this place was truly a little paradise with a few smal tarn and streams, I got the mountain all by myself, amazing.

Captured on a mountain in a thunderstorm

Just right before I close my eyes a loud thunder make me clear awake and very soon the sky open in a heavy rain and the wind picks up. I where trapped in middle of a thunderstorm high up on the mountains.
I sit up in the middle of the tent and very soon I see a flash light up our tent followed with a load thunder. The ground was shaking and the rain gets even more dense. I hear some more thunder but very thankful no more flashlight. The thunderstorm pass by and when the rain stops I went out of the tent and see the most amazing light and the setting sun above the mountains. I got a nice evening after the scary thunderstorm pass by.

Felt like a time ago since I capture a sunset photo but this view was so beautiful.

The next day was really nice and I got a really experience in the mountains and long lasting memories.
