Windy hike in Sösjöfjällen, follow and see photographs from hike trough old forest and bogs, beautiful rivers and surrounding fells.
The hike begins in Långsådalen
I start my hike from Långsådalen late in the afternoon into the forest close to the fells in Sösjöfjällen.
Sösjöfjällen
Sösjöfjällen is fells in Kalls county, Åre municipality, Jämtland. Sösjöfjällen is located between the Norwegian border and the lakes Torrön, Stor-Burvattnet and Stor-Mjölkvattnet. Mjölkvattsfjället reaches 1246 meters above sea level. Sösjöfjällen is located within Njaarke Sami village. The area has been used for reindeer husbandry for at least 1000 years.

Beautiful streams and waterfalls
Soon I reach a river and it was quite easy to pass, just jump on a few rocks. I follow the stream upstreams and soon I came a cross this beautiful waterfall.

Sheltered in my steady Hilleberg tent

I was glad that I have choose a really steady tent when the wind picks up later in the evening. I recently bought the one person tent Soulo by Hilleberg. I was really impressed how well the tent handles the rough weather so I can get a good nights sleep.
Follow a small unmarked trail

After breakfast I continue my hike into the forest, I follow a small unmarked trail that at some times disappeared.
Find shelter in the valley

I came a cross a wind sheltered little valley with a nice little stream. I stop by and take a photograph and have some warm soup, it was really cold and it was nice to have some thing warm.
Hike up on the fells
After the short break I continue my hike up on the fells, start by crossing some really wet bogs and then it get steeper and quite dense forest.
Beautiful views

I get instantly rewarded with a stunning view over the valleys and ambient fells.
Harsh conditions up in the fells

Weather wasn’t that gentle up on the fells, I cross a few small streams on my way up to a little lake, but I retreats down into the more wind sheltered forest and spend the afternoon reading books and photograph the forest and streams.
Lazy afternoon

Sunny morning

Wake up to a really sunny morning, I was so glad to finally enjoy some sunny weather, but I think the wind have picks up even more so I hike back over a smal hill and came a cross a really beautiful old pine forest, just lovely.
I will return

Think I definitely will come back to this place later when the weather is more pleasant.
