About the Photographer Lennart Olsson
I want to take the opportunity to present myself.
It all begin with a big passion for the outdoor.
From young age I have spend a lot of time outdoor in different type of activity, start with building shelters in the wood, long distant running, mountain biking, snowboarding, telemark, fly fishing, hiking, backcountry- / cross country skiing and camping.
I want to share my passion and start capture and dokument my journeys in the fells and woodland.
Several years ago I start to capture my journeys more serious, so I bring with me tripod and more advance full frame system camera.
I love the woodland close to the fells.
Enjoy the nature is number one
Today I always went out to enjoy the outdoor, I don’t plan so much for my photographs, I just go out and if something catch my eyes I stop and capture it.
Except for enjoy the outdoor I want to:
- – Inspire other with my photographs
- – I work to depict the woodland close to the fells that are very unique and unfortunately are under threat to be clear cutting.
- – Offer prints, calendar
Need to take a step back
This Autumn I get really sick after many years with way to much work, I have work with my business in web development in over 10 years I think and in the end I work with both my business and a full time job and this spring I have a lot of private commitment that make me really burnt out.
My passion for the outdoor is my lifeline
My big passion for the outdoor and photography have really helped me to recover a little from my burnt out. I always feel much better when I can come out in the nature with my camera and be stress free and creative. I think it’s like therapy. I really enjoy to fall asleep in a tent close to the nature and listen to the nature and in the morning wake up and listen to the ptarmigan. Just amazing.
Good memories
I have spend a lot of time in the outdoor this year and I have collect a lot of good memories and now I want to share my favorites with you.
In the footstep of a Wolverine
I celebrate the new year close to the fells in Stensdalen, Vålådalen nature reserve. On my way back to Vålådalen I spotted fresh tracks of a Wolverine. I think I might scared the Wolverine, the tracks suddenly turned off into the woods away from the track it have followed.
When I reach a bogs the sun starts to break through the mist and everything was so silent.
Ray of Light
Next photo is captured in Glen, Oviksfjällen. I have pitch my tent up on the fells in Glen and woke up to a really crisp and cold morning. After a cup of warm coffee and breakfast I went out and explore the nature close to the tent, it was really beautiful see how the landscape catch the first ray of light light. Love the dark forest in the background and how the top of the birch get light up by the first ray of light.
Last light
On my way home from Arådalen, Jämtland I drive through the road from Arådalen to Persåsen on a road called Fäbodvägen. I capture this photo of the last glowing light on tree tops. It was really cold and some mist dancing on the bogs.
Mountain Birches
After a night in the tent close to Busjöfjället, Arådalen, I went out exploring the fells and surrounding woodland. I really love the landscape, hilly and really old forest. Higher up on a slope I spotted this two birches, good motivation to continue the climb with the pulk up on the fells.
Winter Glow
The sun break through the clouds and makes the sky glow, captured on the same trip as last one.
Frozen in Time
Still on the same trip, very productive, I remember that I really felt alive when I ski trough the heavy snowfall and wind. In this photography I froze the moment and the heavy snowfall help me isolate the lonely birch.
Solitude
Suddenly the snowfall stop and the light start to break through. I came across this lonely birch. Fantastic feeling of Solitude in this photography. After this photo I ski down in the forest and enjoy some soup and a cup of coffee before I head back home.
Late Night Show
This photo is from Vålådalen Nature Reserve, this night the sky give me a fantastic show. I spend a weekend between Vålådalen and Stensdalen.
Last Light
I was out on a winter camping trip to Predikstolen and I have a fantastic spring winter weather in several days. When the sun set behind the mountain Predikstolen it starts to get really cold, later that night I got a fantastic light show of Northern Lights.
Night Light
Fantastic night light over Predikstolen, I stay up late outside my campsite and be amazed by the northern light.
Morning Glory
Next morning I weak up to this amazing morning light. After this capture I go back to my tent and prepare my breakfast and boil some coffee. On my way back to Kläppen I stop a few of times to enjoy the sun, warm coffee and the views.

Snowstorm in Backlight
Another winter camping trip in the beautiful Nature Reserve in Vålådalen. My trip goes from Vallbo to Staalavieliekåtan and then I follow the trail close to the fells to Issjön and then follow Issjödalen back to Vallbo. Nice trip.
I camp close to Djupdalen. The snow was very wet on the evening when I pitch my tent, and then it get colder during the night and then in the morning I have a really hard work to pick up my winter tent pegs. The ground was hard like ice. Just right before I pack down my gear and continue my journey it starts blowing very hard and the sun makes the snowflakes glow while they drift down the mountain like a zig zag waterfall.
Swirling river
The snow starts to smelt and the hiking season begin. I know the area close to Oviksfjällen very well and I have my favorites, like this one, a little stream in Marntallsåsen Nature Reserve. It felt like I just walk into a fairy tale. I camp close to the river under the tarp and during the night I got a lot of snow so the ground was white again.
In the John Bauer Forest
Me and my partner Sandra went out for a hike in the old forest in Berge, Jämtland. Rain was in the air and the mosquitos was really persistent. After a cup of coffee I went down to the little tern, the water was perfectly still and I manage to capture the photograph that I have in my mind. Very much John Bauer over the woodland. I think Elf use to sit on the rock while the mist dancing over the tarn.
Misty Mountains
The mist swept between the trees and mountains while we start the hike up in the fells in Härbergsdalen, Frostviksfjällen.
A light rain pouring down as we walk through the old beautiful forest.
Time to time the mountaintops reveals in the mist.
On this time we didn’t now what to come up on the mountain.
I think I and my partner have one of the scariest night up one the mountain.

Sunset Mountains
First I was out with my Cousin and her partner for a day hike in Sösjöfjällen and after that I hike up towards Korsvattnet.
I pitch my tent when I reach the tree line and the following day I continue my hike in Oldsfjällen to this very beautiful view point where I camp a night before I hike back to Långsådalen. I spend a half day sitting next to a river all by myself, didn’t meet any other hikers.
Really nice area for hiking.
Magical Morning
I went out for a weekend to one of my favorite woodland, Helvetesbrännan. When I arrive to the nature reserve and start my hiking I reach a stream and a little bit down the stream I spotted a couple of Beavers, I stop and watch them for a while and suddenly one of them get curious and swim towards me, we watch each other for a little while before the Beaver dive down and swim back further a way down the stream. The following next morning I weak up to this beautiful morning when the sun start to peak through the mist over the bogs.
Golden Woodland
Layers of woodland in Helvetesbrännan, morning sun break trough the mist that separate the trees and create these beautiful layers.
Black Rock River
Out on a trip to Anjan and me and my partner came across this lovely little stream with fresh cold water that stream trough the old woodland and black rocks. I spend a lot of time fine tune this lovely composition of the waterfall and manage to capture this photo that I am really satisfied with.
In the Mist
I felt really tired and bad after a long telephone call and I felt like a need a recover so I went out for a short hike in Frösövallen.
I immediately felt much better when I come out to this lovely landscape and fine mist.
Misty Woodland
Summarizing this year with a photo from a local small woodland that I often go to when I feel that I need a little short hike. I spend a long time in this woodland, taking photographs and drinking coffee and enjoy the outdoor.

Hand in Hand on Christmas Eve
The year isn’t over yet, I was out for a winter camping trip to Storlien. I wake up to the lovely sound of a grouse outside my tent, I just love that sound in the morning. I melt some snow to the thermos and then I pack my camera bag and went out for a short skiing trip in the surrounding fells. The faded midwinter sun start to poking through the clouds. I really enjoy my time outdoor. Then I spotted those lovely birches, the midwinter sun glowing in the background and it almost looks like the older birch holding her branches on the youngster. Mouther and Daughter, hand in hand they looks out over the fells this Christmas Eve.
