Since my Solo hiking in Sösjöfjällen and Svenskådalen, I’ve had some pain in my heel. It’s feeling a bit better now, so I decided to head out for a solo hike to Busjöfjället, Jämtland, Sweden.
Sunny Fall Day for a Hike to Busjöfjället
It was a lovely, sunny day as I began my hike down to the river Arån from the parking lot in Arådalen. The trail starts with a gentle descent into the valley toward the river. The birch trees had already lost their leaves, but they were still beautiful, with a grayish-purple hue that made them stand out even without their foliage.
Black Coffee by the River Arån
As I started to hear the river, I felt it was the perfect time for a cup of coffee. It was wonderful sitting right next to the river, listening to the gushing water, and enjoying the sunshine.
After finishing my coffee, I continued my solo hike to Busjöfjället. The trail followed a small stream as it wound its way up toward the fells.
Soon, I reached the treeline, where the views of Hundshögen were stunning.
I aimed for Busjöknippen and the small tarn as I continued my journey on Busjöfjället.
Pitching My Tent
The afternoon and evening were both peaceful and beautiful, with stunning views from my campsite.

I love hiking through the old woodland in the Arådalen Nature Reserve. Before descending into the valley and entering the fairytale-like forest, I paused to take in the breathtaking view. I even heard the sound of a woodpecker in the distance.
Photography in Harsh Light
The sun broke through the clouds, beaming down from a clear blue sky. While it made for perfect hiking weather, it wasn’t ideal for photography. Still, I managed to capture some black-and-white photos of the magical woodland.
