After a lovely breakfast and night at Sundsvall Scandic City I was driving towards Lörudden for a photography outing.
When I arrive to Lörudden it was a really gray morning, at first look it can feel a bit uninspiring and boring. But when you look closer it was really beautiful. Perfect day for photograph the small intimate landscape.

Cliffs covered in ice

The cliffs were armored with ice, seems almost impossible to tread on without slip and fall really badly. Unfortunately I had no spikes underneath my boots. But I succeed to find a way down to the water without slip. Luckily I had spikes on my tripod legs. But I was always got a feeling of slide like Bambi on slippery ice.

Icicles and rocks

Endless waves

I frame up a composition of black rocks, ice formations and endless waves that create beautiful contrast to the black rocks and the ice. I really enjoyed working with open water again.

Ocean Waterfall

When the crashing waves retrieve out into the Baltic Sea it create the most amazing waterfall.

Coffee time

Think it was time to had some Coffee, so I succeed to crawling up from the slippery rocks for a coffee break, soon the Coffee boiling and it taste lovely with some warm coffee while I listen to the sound of crashing waves.

Even if it was a while since my last visit to Lörudden, I keep revisit the location, always good to really get to know a location, the rocks and compositions. The photograph above was an old favorite of mine. Revisit a location is like visit an old friend. Always joyful to see and experience the location in different seasons and weather.

My photography outing to Lörudden come to the end

Short mid winter days had come to the end a I head back to Sundsvall and my hotel, feels a little bit strange to stay in a hotel, not happens so often. But the visit was really pleasant.
