Follow my spring winter camping trip to Ullådalen in Åre, Sweden. Lovely snow conditions and lovely warm weather.
When I getting closer to Åre and got a view over Åreskutan and the valley, it was very beautiful with the contrast between the white mountain Åreskutan and the bare ground in the Valley. I have to drive quite high up on the road to ullådalen before I found some snow on the ground.
Head out spring winter camping in Ullådalen
It was a very beautiful evening as I start to pack down my gear in the pulk and start skiing up on Mullfjället. I follow the winter trail in the beginning and then I turn right towards Husåbäcktjärnarna.
The evening light start to get really beautiful as I skiing through mountain birches with a beautiful view over Åreskutan.
While the sun start to set behind the fells I pitch my Hilleberg Soulo, from my campsite I have lovely view over Skäckerfjällen and Suljätten.
Moon rise above Åreskutan when I boil some water to my freeze-dry meal, tonight it serve Kebab pot, taste lovely.
To the sound of ptarmigan I fell a sleep and I slept vey well, I just love to listen to that sound when I lies in my tent.
Beautiful Morning
Woke up to a really beautiful morning, I snooze a while before I get up and start to prepare my breakfast. I have some Havre fras and some dry milk powder and soon the Coffee boiled, smells just lovely.
After breakfast I pack down my gear and continue my journey towards Nordhallsfjället, I think Ullådalen is very underestimated, very much skiing and areas to explore.
The nature towards Nordhallsfjället was quite hilly with many ravines.

Time for lunch
While I waiting for the snow to melt to my lunch I spotted a beautiful sun halo above the fells. After dinner I enjoy myself with some reading while I waiting for the coffee to boil. After maybe a hour or one and a half I continue my journey and exploring the nature towards Nordhallsfjället, very beautiful views in all directions.
Find a campsite
I found a campsite with lovely views over the fells in Jämtland, Snasahögarna and Sylarna on one side and Åreskutan on the other side.
I have a really beautiful evening and I only meet a couple of skiers else I got the fells to my self, not many skiers in this part of the fells.
Listen to the Willow Ptarmigan
After the sun have set behind the fells I go back to my tent and prepare some warm chocolate and listen to the ptarmigan, one was very close to the tent.
When I wake up it was very warm in my tent and the sun beamed from a clear blue sky and it was hardly no wind.
I enjoy some breakfast before it was time to pack down my gear and head back to Ullådalen.
I really have a big smile on my lips as I do some big telemarks turns down the fells back to Ullådalen.
